bye for now!

So, it's getting nicer outside and I have been trying to spend less time on the computer. I have decided I will be taking a break from blogging for a while. It might be a few weeks or indefinitely... I just know that with the changes that are about to happen I need to channel my energy elsewhere. Thank you my few readers for understanding. In a few days I will most likely be setting this blog to private and if I decide to start blogging again I will surely give out passwords. In the meantime, God bless you all and be safe!

laundry soap

I ran out of laundry detergent the other day so I thought it would be a good time to make my own again. I did this all last summer, right up until I had Elli. I really do like this recipe, our clothes don't stink, are clean and do not smell like perfume.
My recipe is half of recipe #8 from this site. There are 10 different kinds of soap to make from there that all look worth trying out. I love that I know what is going into my soap and that I usually have on hand what I need to make it. I used up just about all of my baking soda for this batch so will need to get some more for next time. I was making a batch about every 3-4 weeks then. It might be more like every 2-3 weeks with Elli's clothes now.

Winter Jam Concert

Last Friday my mom and I went to the Winter Jam concert with my good friends Savannah and Gabi.

Fist of all, it was a Christian concert. I had been to a million concerts in the past and not one of them were a Christian concert. This one was sooooo different. It was full of love and just totally awesome.

To see that many people who love God in one room was amazing. The place was packed. By the end of the show there were no seats left in there. Floor to ceiling packed!

So, the bands that we saw were, (in order): Revive, Robert Pierre, Sidewalk Prophets, Fireflight, Newsong, Newsboys, Tenth Avenue North, and Third Day.
They were all fantastic. I knew way more of the songs than I thought I did and brought home four cds.

(Third Day starting up)

(Cell phones on)

(Newsboys)

(Give love:))

(love this girl! and her little tummy. Savannah is about 30 weeks pregnant here)

Of course as soon as we got out to the parking lot it was back to work again :) I love my life. God is awesome.

painting

With their feet.

We have been getting a little stir crazy here so I've been trying to think of some out of the box things to do. Not to mention that we aren't watching tv anymore, which will get another post entirely.
I remember painting with my own feet when I was in daycare at age 4. It's probably one of my first memories ever. I just remember the feel of the paint on my feet and how fun it was.

This was Elliot's first time making art. How cool is that? I mean, her very first time! I, of course, helped but those are her very own footprints on paper. I ended up holding her and letting her stomp her little feet on the paper.

Addysen had a blast, as she does when any paints are involved. I think we might have to do this on a bigger scale outside this summer.

ginger tea

It sure does heal! And very yummy watered down with some local honey!

old couch, new couch

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!

old couch:

new (old) couch!

isn't it amazing what a vaccuum cleaner, slip cover and pillows can do to a couch! I wish I would have taken a picture of our old couch, that was re-appolstered in the 60's. Now that thing was old! Perfect for the little hands that spilled many things on it. This new(old) couch was given to us free, with free delivery and removal of our old couch, (to my mom's basement of course!) Aaron and I had been looking for a new couch for quite some time now and just couldn't bring ourselves to fork out the money to buy brand new. And then this came about! I ended up spending $68 on the slip cover and pillows. Not bad, I say, for a new couch!
The couch is comfy, by the way, and I love that I can take the cover off to be washed if needed!

Mushrooming Without Fear!

I can't wait to go mushroom hunting this summer! Aaron got me this book:

It was a very quick read and easy to understand. I plan on reading it again before I actually try to hunt mushrooms. I have a love affair with mushrooms, you know. I love them, love fake mushrooms and mushrooms on fabric. I think I need to mushroom hunt online and find some fabric for summer clothes...

That seat

I've been seeing a lot of this chair lately and get to again on Tuesday. I am getting all four wisdom teeth out! Kind of scared, kind of anxious and kind of glad (for the little rest I'll get to have afterwards.) The good news is that after I heal I am getting invisalign! I can't wait!

mi familia

I am extremely blessed to have these three people. I am aware of that and do not take one minute of this life with them for granted! I love them so much!

A hat for me!

Although I've been knitting numerous hats for my family and extended family... um 12 or 13 hats since September?? I finally knit this mama one! I adapted a pattern that called for using really small needles and really thin yarn, fingering weight I think.

I have been digging the super bulky yarn lately and used all but a few yards to make this hat. It knit up in about an hour and a half and I used some vintage buttons on the side of it. I couldn't be happier about it!

yay!

butterflies

We made these buterflies last week using this tutorial from the Sycamore Stirrings blog. It was very easy since we had just about everything on hand. Addy wasn't too into it. She hasn't been in a crafting mood for a while, unless it's fingerpaints and she gets to paint herself brown... silly girl.

So, now these hang in her room by masking tape. (We have plaster walls so there was no thumbtacking them into there.)
I think they are pretty neat if you as me. I love the girls' room. I wish my own was as cheery when I was growing up!

shamrocks

We painted shamrocks and paper with green paint for March. I've never decorated for St. Patty's day before but lately we've been taping things to the windows, so why not shamrocks? Addy liked it.

Oh, and Addy liked painting the table just as much...

out and about

This little lady got a few minutes to herself (after I got FOUR cavities filled. ahem) and walked down to the antique store to get lost.

I did end up with something in my home from these pictures. (Although it is not the picture of the circus folk...) I'll show my treasure soon! Anyone wanna guess?
